What and Who is masklab™ ?
The idea of masklab took hold in late February 2020. COVID-19 was beginning to subside in China, but was increasing in strength in other countries around the world. Suddenly, countless factories were being formed all over the world to take advantage of the pandemic. While many have noble intentions, some used sub-standard materials and production to uncut the market. As a result, the market was flooded with cheap, unreliable face masks.
Prior to making masks, masklab were a metrics-driven manufacturer who obsessed over engineering the highest quality products. Mask-making is a new endeavor for us but we have brought the same type of fastidiousness to the craft. We believe mask producers should have the attention-to-detail on par with scientific laboratories, hence the name masklab. To stay true to the name, we have outfitted the factory with Hong Kong's first automated filter tester so that we can verify the quality of every batch of our filters.
What safety standards do masklab™ products have?
All masklab products have been certified by multiple labs to pass the highest medical standard of ASTM F2100 Level 3 and EN 14683 Type IIR \. have been tested by two labs to two different standards: Eurofins for EU's EN 14683 and Nelson Labs for US's ASTM F2100.
In additional to passing the highest medical standard, our KF Series masks (also known as Korean-style Respirators) have also passed the EU PPE Respirator standard of FFP2, which is the equivalent of KF94 and slightly better than N95 at oil-based particles filtration.
